Posted on July 7, 2013

IMG_0089Jan Van den Herrewegen began the next leg of his PSA Tour when he flew from Hong Kong to Sydney on Friday morning…

Here is a brief itinerary of the next few weeks:

July 5-8 SYDNEY: Training in and around Sydney with his coach Mark Andrew Burke (originally from Sydney). On the 7th July Jan played an exhibition match with former World#35 Aaron Frankcomb, during the NSW State Squash Championships at Thornleigh Squash Centre, Sydney.IMG_0090 It was a bit of a wake-up call for Jan, which has come to realise that squash in Sydney during winter means a dead court and short rallies. Jan will need this experience to equip himself well for the next 2 weeks in Melbourne and Hobart.

Rob Leisner & Mark at Thornleigh Squash, Sydney.

Special thanks to Rob Leisner from Northmead Squash & Fitness, who helped a lot during our stay in Sydney. Rob is one of Sydney’s high profile squash coaches and is passionate about the game. Burkesquash wishes Rob well with his club in the future, Thanks mate! Also a special thanks to Aaron Frankcomb from Willoughby Squash Club. Mark visited Aaron at his club to see his squash program in action and Aaron made himself available for the exhibition with Jan. Thanks Aaron!
