Jan VDHW ‘kicks off’ in Hong Kong

Jan Van den Herrewegen kicks off his PSA Tour ‘Downunder’ today in Hong Kong. Jan arrived in Hong Kong on Saturday 29th June, fresh from a 2 day training camp in Amsterdam (special thanks to Tommy Berden, Piedro Schweertman, Steve Finitsis & Courtney West).

Jan will compete in the Buler Squash Challenge Cup 2013 (link to event) a Challenger 15 event on the PSA World Tour. The link above has the Main Draw, but Jan will first have to Qualify. Click on the qualifying draw below to see a bigger version of the Qualifying Draw.

Kowloon CCThe tournament takes place at the famous ‘Kowloon Cricket Club’ in Hong Kong, venue for many a PSA event in the last 20 years.

First up today, Jan will play Tsz Fung Yip (CHN), who is listed as being from China, although Jan tells me he is from Hong Kong. It will be a good challenge for Jan, away from home, no coach, no support and with big points on offer if he can qualify for the Main Draw. Jan will have to win another match to earn that privilege.
