MAIN DRAW: 1st Round loss but a WIN for experience…

Jan Van den Herrewegen today put some experience in the bank with his 1st Round loss to Jaymie Haycocks (Eng), 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-4).

After his mammoth Qualifying Final yesterday (Link to Report), it was an unfortunate draw for Jan. For those not familiar with PSA Qualifying Draws, the 8 qualifiers (from the 32 players) go into a draw for the 8 qualification spots in the Main Draw (see Link to Swiss Open Draws).

IMG_1633It was a hard task against the silky smooth-hitting from the Englishman. There were some tough rallies and Jan was able get Haycocks moving but these rallies were too few. Jan was too loose and his unforced error rate in the 1st two games was far too high.

This tournament is just the 1st step for Jan in a long road to PSA stardom!
